Here is the latest weather bulletin issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.

The subtropical ridge is extending westwards gradually and bringing hot weather to the northern part of the South China Sea and the coast of Guangdong. Meanwhile, a southerly airstream is bringing showers to the coast of Guangdong.

Weather forecast for tonight and tomorrow

Mainly cloudy with a few showers. The minimum temperature tomorrow morning will be about 28 degrees. Hot with sunny periods during the day. The maximum temperature will be around 32 degrees in the urban areas, and a couple of degrees higher in the New Territories. Moderate southerly winds, occasionally fresh offshore and on high ground at first.

Outlook : Prolonged relatively high temperatures are expected for the rest of this week. Sunny periods and a few showers in the following couple of days.

With the subtropical ridge extending westwards gradually, the weather will be generally fine and persistently very hot over Guangdong for the rest of this week. However, a southerly airstream will bring a few showers to the coastal areas. A broad trough of low pressure is expected to affect the central part of the South China Sea over the weekend and early next week.
